Inputs and options
The Income Tax Calculator is an input-based calculator — you type values directly in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
Inputs
| Input | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Gross income | Your total annual income (salary, business, other sources) |
| Standard deduction | The flat deduction available under the old regime |
| 80C & 80D deductions | Investments and insurance premiums eligible under the old regime |
| HRA / other exemptions | House rent allowance or any additional exemptions you claim |
Options
- Regime view — the tool always computes both the new regime and the old regime, side by side
- 87A rebate — applied automatically when your taxable income falls within the rebate threshold
- Health and education cess — 4% added automatically after the tax and rebate are computed
Getting the best results
- Enter gross income, not take-home salary, so the result reflects your true taxable income
- Under the old regime, claim every deduction you are eligible for — 80C, 80D, HRA, and standard deduction
- Compare both numbers and remember that the new regime blocks most deductions, so a lower headline rate is not always cheaper
Verdict
The Income Tax Calculator takes your income and deductions and returns a clear FY 2026-27 tax figure under both regimes with the 87A rebate and cess applied.
