Signature Size Editor — Resize Signature to 4.5cm x 2cm / 3.5cm x 1.5cm

Resize and compress your signature to exact exam sizes (4.5cm x 2cm, 3.5cm x 1.5cm) with a readability check. Free, private, and runs in your browser.

Exam forms need your signature at very specific dimensions — SSC and most banking forms ask for 4.5cm x 2cm in 10–20KB, while some state exams want 3.5cm x 1.5cm. Uploading an oversized or undersized signature causes portal errors.

This signature editor resizes your signature to any exam preset, auto-crops the white margins, and scores the readability so you can be sure the ink strokes are still clear after compression.

How to resize a signature for an exam form

  1. 1

    Choose the exam preset

Pick SSC, IBPS, GDS or another preset — the tool locks the signature ratio and KB range.

  2. 2

    Upload your signature

Use a clear scan or photo of your signature in black ink on white paper.

  3. 3

    Auto-crop and process

The tool trims the white margins, centres the ink, and resizes to the exact dimensions.

  4. 4

    Check readability and download

Review the readability score, then download the JPG.

Pro tips

  • Sign with a thick pen so strokes survive JPEG compression.
  • Keep the signature fully inside the frame with white margin on all sides.
  • Download at 300 DPI so the physical printed size matches the official spec.

Frequently asked questions

What is the standard signature size for exams?

4.5cm x 2cm in JPEG for SSC, IBPS, RRB and GDS, usually between 10KB and 20KB. State boards may ask for 3.5cm x 1.5cm — check the specific notification.

Why is my signature rejected by the portal?

Common causes: wrong pixel ratio, file size outside the KB range, signature touching the edges, or very low contrast ink.

What does the readability score mean?

The tool measures how much clear ink the image contains after resizing. A low score means the signature may look blotchy or too faint when printed — retake it in darker ink.

Can I use a thumb impression?

Some forms accept a thumb impression instead of a signature. Use the same size requirements (e.g. 4.5cm x 2cm) and ensure the impression is dark and complete.
