Length Converter not working? Here's how to fix it
Most issues with the Length Converter are small and fixable in seconds. Work through these in order.
1. The tool won't load
Reload the page, or open it in a fresh tab. If an extension blocks scripts, try private (incognito) mode — Length Converter needs JavaScript, which is on by default in every modern browser. If you are offline, the tool still works once the page has loaded once.
2. No results appear when I type
Make sure you typed a valid number in the source field using a period for decimals (for example "5.5", not "5,5"). Also confirm you haven't cleared the field. The other fields update only when a numeric value is present.
3. The converted value looks wrong
Check which field is your source. The tool converts from the field you type into — if you expect meters output but you're typing in the feet field, the displayed numbers are based on feet. You can switch sources by clicking another unit field.
4. Feet and inches seem out of sync
Length Converter treats feet and inches as separate decimal units, not as a combined "5ft 7in" notation. To convert 5 feet 7 inches, enter 5 in the feet field and separately 7 in the inches field, or enter 67 in the inches field. Remember 12 inches make one foot.
5. Astronomical results are unwieldy
Values like light-years and parsecs involve huge numbers. The tool may show them in scientific notation (for example 9.461e+15 for meters in a light-year). This is correct — no adjustment is needed.
