How to compress an image in a few steps
Shrinking an image's file size takes under a minute.
Step 1: Open the tool
Go to Compress. It runs entirely in your browser — nothing to install, no account to create.
Step 2: Add your image
Drag and drop your file, or click to browse. JPG, PNG, and WebP are supported (up to 50 MB), and everything runs locally.
Step 3: Adjust the quality
Use the quality control to choose the balance:
- Lower quality → smaller file, more compression
- Higher quality → larger file, crisper image
Step 4: Preview and download
Preview the result to see both the image and its new file size, then download. Repeat as often as you like.
Tips
- Start with a middle quality and adjust from the preview
- Compress only as much as you need — each image is different
- Keep the original in case a smaller version looks too soft
What you need to get started
A modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge). The tool accepts JPEG, PNG, and WebP up to 50 MB and does everything on your device.
