Formats, file types, and size limits for Edit PDF
A quick reference for what the PDF editor accepts.

The tool works with PDF documents.
| Format | MIME type | Status |

Size limits
Each PDF can be up to 50 MB. There is no daily limit on how many files you can edit, and because processing runs locally, the practical limit is your device's memory.
Text vs scanned PDFs
- Text-based PDFs (created from Word, Docs, forms) have editable text, so you can add and correct text directly.
- Scanned PDFs are images; you can still add text boxes, signatures, and annotations on top, but existing text can't be edited as characters.
Getting the best results
- Prefer a text-based source PDF when you need to edit its wording
- For scans, add text and signatures as overlays rather than expecting character-level edits
- Preview before downloading to confirm placement
Verdict
Edit PDF handles PDF input up to 50 MB and lets you edit, sign, and annotate with nothing leaving your device.
